Kaleidescape's plans to support Blu-ray Discs

Kaleidescape continues to invest significant engineering resources towards the development of the Blue-Laser Player that will play Blu-ray Discs, in addition to DVDs, CDs, and content from other sources. Kaleidescape's Blue-Laser Player will work with any Kaleidescape server, and may be added to any existing Kaleidescape System.

The Blue-Laser Player is the most important engineering project at Kaleidescape, and they have made substantial progress in its development. Pre-production units are running, and the results are exciting. Unfortunately, they will not be able to ship this product by the end of 2009 as it was originally projected. It is expected to release the Blue-Laser Player in 2010.

The good news is that they are using this additional time to improve upon the compelling experience that Kaleidescape will bring to Blu-ray Discs.
